Tehohàhake - FOR EXHIBIT
Tehohàhake is my Mohawk name meaning Two Roads
My son Thompson and I took a journey and these recordings are everything we have to offer you from that journey.
We closed our eyes and opened our minds in the centre of each moment, improvising melodies that nurture us like deep breaths, full and long and satisfying.
These melodies that surrounded us are accompanied with prayers, indigenous drums, shakers, Mohawk whispers, guitar, harmonica and a seven dollar keyboard Thompson found on kijiji
We are joined by Aaron Goldstein on pedal steel who’s playing the light reflecting off the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
Mixed at The Stonehouse Studio by our friend Gary Furniss.
We have released three versions. One is a collection of 2 minute meditations.
The vinyl version which is two continuous sides PART A and PART B for near uninterrupted experience.
And finally, there is a youTube exclusive continuous version that is 46:48 found here .
